It's summer time! I love summer and being able to play and enjoy everything CNY has to offer for the summer. It's also a time when heat stroke can happen, sunburns, and a lot more. Here are a few tips to help keep you and your kids safe during the summer:

Sun and Heat

1. Sunscreen for everyone! SPF 50 is recommended

2. Wear a hat

3. try to sit in the shade if possible on hot days

4. Keep Hydrated

Water Safety

1. Wear US Coast Guard approved safety vests when on boats or jet skis

2. At the pool, stay close to your child and be aware of surroundings.

3. At the beach, be careful of the undertow.

4. Don't run on pool decks

5. Use sunscreen and rash guards

6. Observe posted signs warning about high winds or unsafe swimming conditions

Hiking/Biking

1. Wear long sleeves and proper shoes when hiking

2. Bring bug spray

3. Always wear a helmet and shoes while biking

4. Check for ticks and other bugs

5. Stay hydrated
