One of my favorite things to do in the summer is go with my family to a local ice cream spot. Here is a list of the top places me and my family have been to.
Sunshine Ice Cream
Located next to the Citgo on Route 31 in Baldwinsville. (Across from Radisson)
What they offer: All different varieties and flavors of hard and soft serve ice cream. They use Perry's brand of hard serve ice cream. There are also sundaes, milk shakes, banana splits, slushies, and so much more. If you have a dairy allergy, they have dairy free ice cream. Gluten free? They have gluten free cones.
Seating: They offer indoor and outdoor seating
Parking: There are spaces both in front of the store and behind it.
The New Henderson Dairy, Ice Cream & More
Located at 2835 Lamson Road in Phoenix
What they offer: Several kinds of soft and hard serve ice cream; shakes, floats; banana splits and more. They also have food on site.
Seating: There is a small indoor seating area as well as picnic benches outside
Parking: There is a small lot to park in.
Abbott Farms
Located on Cold Springs Road in Baldwinsville
What they offer: In addition to the produce; there is a small store that features ice cream, their hard cider and homemade goods from area vendors. The ice cream is Giffords of Maine. It is delicious. There are a lot of flavors. There are also shakes, flurries and more.
Seating: There is a small indoor seating area, as well as some outdoors.
Parking: Large lot to park in
Hickory Hill Golf Course
Located on Route 31 in Baldwinsville
What they offer: It isn't just a golf course, driving range, mini golf or restaurant, there is also an ice cream stand! Hickory Hill prides themselves on their homemade ice cream. They always have new flavors to try. One of the flavors they had last year was unicorn poop.
Seating: There is indoor and outdoor seating. There is also a huge Adirondack chair that you can take pictures in.
Parking: Large lot shared with golf course.
