The Top 5 Playgrounds or Parks in North Syracuse

By Alyssa Knutti March 19, 2019

North Syracuse is lucky to have so many great parks and playgrounds for kids. My kids have swung, spun, and raced through many of them ... and definitely have their favorites!

Here’s a list of our family’s top five favorite parks and playgrounds in North Syracuse and the reasons we love them:

Park name: Lysander Town Park

Location: Smokey Hollow Road, Baldwinsville

Features: Tennis courts, basketball courts, walking pathway, pavilions, sand area, mist sprayer, playground equipment for ages 5-12, bathrooms, community room and water fountain,

What my kids love: There is a sand pit with two digging toys, as well as the playground.

What I love: I love the walking pathway, the parking is ample.

Park name: Onondaga Lake Park

Location: Liverpool

Features: Huge walking path area, restrooms, trolley service, playground equipment for ages 2-5 and 5-12, boat launch, lake views, docks, athletic fields

What my kids love: They love the Wegmans playground the most.

What I love:I like the playground, it has a tire swing, the walking path and an option for a trolley to go to other parts of the park.

Park name:  Longbranch Park

Location: Liverpool

Features: There is a sledding hill, two entrances. It is part of OLP so the trolley goes there. Limited bathrooms (check when closed) play structures, kayak rentals.

What my kids love: The playgrounds and the quietness

What I love: How it was kind of hidden away, and the open space

Park name: Phoenix park

Location: Phoenix

Features: Play structures, athletic fields, some walking areas, a covered pavilion, water fountain. I did not see a bathroom, little library

What my kids love: This playground had a merry go round, so my kids were delighted with that.

What I love: It seems to be a not well known park, as no one had heard of it before.

Park name: Community Park

Location: Van Buren road, Baldwinsville

Features: athletic fields, play structure, picnic areas, boat launch.

What my kids love: The play structure

What I love: It was quiet but big enough to walk around.
