Three best Picnic Spots in North Syracuse

By Alyssa Knutti May 15, 2019

My kids love the idea of going on a picnic, so we pack up what seems like half of our refrigerator a few times a year and head out to one of our favorite North Syracuse picnic spots.

We’re lucky, in North Syracuse, to have so many great picnic spots to choose from! Here’s my family’s list of top three picnic spots in {your town}:

Location: Lysander Town Park-Smokey Hollow Road, Baldwinsville.

Features: Community room, and a restroom, drinking fountain, play area, 3 shelters with several picnic tables, sand pit, walking path

What my kids love: There is a spot for them to play, and if they need to use the bathroom, it is close by.

What I love: The variety of things to do. We can walk, play or just enjoy the park.

Location: Long Branch Park, Onondaga Lake Park, Liverpool

Features: There are two parts to this park. This one is before the bridge. There is boat access; a trolley to take you to the other parts of the park, two shelters and picnic tables. I did not see bathrooms when we were there before.

What my kids love: The playground and how they're able to run around.

What I love: Its quiet and shaded; some play areas are not.

Location: Paper Mill Island/Community Park Baldwinsville

Features: Walking path across the bridge/canal; no restrooms. Picnic tables looks out on the canal

What my kids love: Its got a huge stage

What I love: Its beautiful and peaceful

That’s my family’s list, but I bet your family has their own favorite North Syracuse picnic spots! I’d love to know where they are. Drop me a line on Facebook or email me at name@macaronikid.com.

Have a great time on your picnic adventure, and remember...don’t forget the napkins!
